Description
Kanzashi night fury! I've been tossing ideas around since the first How To Train Your Dragon movie came out on making a tsumami
kanzashi dragon. I couldn't think of a way to do the wings until recently, when I made the luna moths. I had two ideas on
the tail fins, one with the pleated petals and one with a row of pointed petals, similar to making some leaves. I went with the
pleated fins this time, I'll try the other idea the next time I make a dragon kanzashi. (I think I also need to make the tail fins just a little bit smaller next time)
This is attached to a large barrette so I can wear it over a ponytail.
Now that I have the design worked out, I want to make my next one smaller, and sculpt polymer clay eyes for it instead of using
beads. And of course I will have to make one with toothless' pretty red tail fin and glowy scales. I also think instead of a hair clip, it would be fun to put one of these on a bracelet, so you could wear a cute little dragon on your arm.
ARRGH! This one did NOT want to photograph for me. The fabric has an ever-so-slight shiny finish to it, you don't really see it normally but of course the camera had to pick up on it EVERY TIME and totally washed out the pictures. I tried switching light and backgrounds and ended up with halfway decent photos eventually, though I'd like to take better.

I recently watched this movie, and loved the cat-ness of Toothless. This is a great interpretation~
