Part two of the tutorial is here: [link]

Finished earrings are here: [link]

Here's A tutorial detailing my method of making Link's fireshield earrings from The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. After I uploaded pictures from the set I made for myself, There were a few people who expressed the desire to make their own set, and I thought a quick tutorial may be a help to anyone else who wants try it. Most of these materials should be available at almost any craft store.

The materials for these are inexpensive, and the steps aren't hard, but it takes time and patience to get the shape exactly right. Don't give up if your earrings don't look good right away. Keep working at it and they'll eventually look right.

It'll probably be easier than going through the Eldin Silent Realm, anyway! XD

I found the references for the earring shape here: [link] and here: [link]

I'm sorry for the large picture size, please download for fullview!

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and the design for the Fireshield Earrings belong to Nintendo.

You could probably use clip-ons as a base, as long as they're metal and there's no hinge that the clay would get in the way of, they should work just fine. If you're worried about the clay sticking, just apply a layer of liquid Sculpey or other liquid clay to the base first. A pair like these would probably work: [link]

As for getting your ears pierced, if you want to do it, there's really nothing to worry about. Mine were pierced years ago, but from what I remember it didn't hurt much, (just felt like a short pinch) and it was over before I even knew what was happening. ;)

They look good so far! I guess you can make them any size you want, as long as they're the same. If long as the wire you used isn't too stiff, you should be able to manipulate it even after you've molded the clay on if you're careful.

THX very much.

Ear to earring relation was important for me. Now I have a good one with the smallest earings you see.

Was my first time with clay.....XD
